Welcome to Mauritius

Mauritius, officially the Republic of Mauritius is actually one of the most highly developed countries in Africa.
The country has preserved its image as one of Africa's few social and economic success stories, being a sugar and clothing exporter and a center for upmarket tourism. Its capital and largest city is Port Louis....

Mauritius culture like any culture in the world makes a country and its people unique. The culture is based on the diversity of the population and is expressed through literature, music, dance, religion, local craft and tradition.

Mauritius is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of the African continent neighboring the French island of La Reunion. It is a volcanic island of lagoons and palm-fringed beaches with coral reefs surrounding most of the coastline. The Island possesses an immense maritime territory of over 1 million square kilometers.

Mauritians like to partake in a Sundowner - literally the "sunset", a tradition which will fill your evenings in Mauritius. Mauritians meet on the beach to enjoy the last rays of the sun; a very pleasant moment, especially in summer.

Visas: Citizens of most countries do not need a visa or may obtain visa on arrival to Mauritius for the purpose of tourism

Mauritius is home to some of the rarest animal and plant species in the world. Along with the other Mascarene Islands, Mauritius is known for its varied flora and fauna, with many species endemic to the island. The island is widely known as the only known home of the dodo, which, along with several other avian species, was made extinct by human activities relatively shortly after the island's settlement.
